English Tea
Black tea reached England between 1652 and 1654 and proved so popular, it quickly replaced ale as England's national drink.
English tea is grown in India or Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and the most popular brands in Great Britain are Lyons Quickbrew, PG Tips, Tetley, Typhoo and Yorkshire. Nowadays most people use tea bags but traditionalists still favour loose-leaf tea.
